The Second One

Is it great? Watching 2 kids grow up to 1 year old in seconds!

The second one was really easier. The work was actually the same but because I knew what to expect, so the crying didn’t bother me that much. At the same time, I don’t care to reach the high standard as I did to my first born. Pacifiers are OK, couldn’t sleep through the night is fine. Diapers work pretty much the same, no matter they were pricy or cheap. She wants to be picked up all the time, that’s fine, as long as Mommy has energy to hold her. I realize that they did no harm, really! So relax.

Yes, She has been hidden for so long. I wish to tell story by time, but time flies much faster than my work. And she turned one already. I should introduce her before she's 10.

Be a Real Mom

我覺得我是在Patrick生病之後才成為真正的媽媽。當然喝奶、換尿布、哄睡覺、逗他玩，照顧他，每天都在這永不停止的循環中磨練耐性和帶小孩的技巧，可是我想褓母也可以將這些事做得很好，或許更好(如果你碰到很棒的褓母)，但是褓母和媽媽的差別，到他生病了，我才明白。

對呀，從來也不知道那種害怕和擔心，那麼小小的一個小孩，看到他臉燙的發紅，高燒嘔吐，不曉得他的身體能不能承受這種痛苦，心裡嚇慌了，若能替他生病，或許還比較好受，眼淚隨時就要掉下來，可是外表還要很堅強，抱著哄他，希望他能好過一些，第一次照顧生病的Patrick，心裡一點底也沒有，要保暖還是溫水澡，要給藥還是讓他的身體去打仗，中式西式有不同的治療方法，每個決定都想了又想，猶豫又猶豫。

然後才懂母愛像是一個人愛自己的身體一樣的感受，比方說，一個人的腳受傷了，她的眼睛一定很自然會去看看腳傷嚴不嚴重，唯一不同的地方是她完全感受不到痛楚，所以她真的很希望痛一下，知道到底發生什麼事，該怎麼治好，因為就是這樣自然、自發的感受，想阻止或不讓它發生反而很難。這和世人所稱頌的偉不偉大，一點關係都沒有，因為是完全不同層面的事。

As I remember, Babies start smiling when they are 3 months old. That's exactly Patrick's case. And oh, yes, that was some reward!
